How Do You Say Goodbye

To a life once lived in its fullest expression.

To a God you once knew and felt fully.

To a home that you built as a sanctuary to the world.

To a family created out of love and intention.

You dig shallow holes and fill them full of memories,

you say prayers, speak meditations, build fires and dance.

You place rocks on their graves,

you raise your hands to the sky and scream to the heavens.

You throw seashells back into the ocean, 

look for calmer waters and point your face 

towards the sunshine.

You cry, you laugh, you cry.

You lay it to rest again,

and again, 

and again.

You start over...
